Reconstitution, storage, and common laboratory study designs. Educational only.

1. Reconstitution (Lab Standard)

Most Physis peptides ship as lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder for maximum stability. In the lab they are typically reconstituted with bacteriostatic water (BAC water) or sterile water before use in experiments.

  1. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening (reduces moisture condensation).
  2. Wipe the rubber stopper with alcohol.
  3. Draw the desired volume of bacteriostatic water into a sterile syringe.
  4. Inject the water slowly down the side of the vial wall — do not blast the powder with the stream.
  5. Gently swirl or roll the vial until the powder fully dissolves. Do not shake vigorously.
  6. Label the vial with concentration, date, and researcher initials.

Example concentration math

If a 10 mg vial is reconstituted with 2 mL of water → concentration = 5 mg/mL.
To draw 500 mcg (0.5 mg) you would draw 0.1 mL (10 units on a U-100 insulin syringe).

2. Storage Guidelines

Lyophilized (unreconstituted)

  • Store at −20 °C (freezer) for long-term
  • Short-term: 2–8 °C (refrigerator) is acceptable
  • Protect from light and moisture
  • Shelf life often 12–24+ months when frozen

After reconstitution

  • Refrigerate at 2–8 °C
  • Typical lab use window: 14–30 days
  • Do not freeze reconstituted peptides repeatedly
  • Discard if cloudy or discolored

3. Common Research Protocol Ranges

Ranges below are frequently cited in peer-reviewed and preclinical literature. Always design protocols under institutional review / lab SOPs.

Healing & Recovery (BPC-157 / TB-500 / Wolverine / GLOW)

BPC-157

Research range often 200–500 mcg once or twice daily. Study lengths 2–6 weeks common in soft-tissue models.

TB-500

Loading: 2–5 mg twice weekly for 4–6 weeks; then maintenance 2–5 mg every 1–2 weeks.

Wolverine blend

Often run together so both regenerative pathways are available in the same research window.

GLOW

Adds GHK-Cu for skin/collagen-focused arms of recovery studies.

Metabolic (Retatrutide / Tirzepatide / 5-Amino-1MQ / MOTS-c)

Retatrutide

Clinical research has used weekly escalating doses (starting ~1–2 mg, titrating higher). Always protocol-dependent.

Tirzepatide

Common schedule: once weekly, starting low (2.5 mg) and escalating every 4 weeks.

MOTS-c

Research often uses 5–15 mg several times per week for metabolic and exercise-mimetic studies.

5-Amino-1MQ

Oral research compound; literature frequently cites ~50–150 mg/day in animal/metabolic designs.

Longevity, Cognitive & Sleep

Epitalon

Cyclic designs: 5–10 mg/day for 10–20 days, repeated 1–2× per year in longevity literature.

Selank

Often 250–500 mcg/day for cognitive/anxiety models over 2–4 weeks.

DSIP

Sleep studies historically used ~100–300 mcg, often evening in experimental designs.

GHK-Cu

1–2 mg/day systemic research; also used topically in dermal studies.

Other Research Protocols

PT-141 (Bremelanotide)

Research doses often 0.5–2 mg; studied extensively in sexual-function models.

KPV

200–500 mcg/day common in gut and anti-inflammatory research.

4. Study Duration Notes

Short studies (1–4 weeks): Acute recovery, sleep, or single-endpoint cognitive models.

Medium studies (4–12 weeks): Metabolic, body-composition, and soft-tissue repair research.

Cyclic / long-term: Longevity peptides (e.g. Epitalon) often appear in pulsed protocols rather than continuous year-round use.
